Hi, I’m Jessica. My career began as a Software Engineer Intern supporting infrastructure-focused teams, where I gained early exposure to the systems, environments, and processes that power modern applications. As I progressed through additional software engineering internships and professional roles, I worked on backend services, full-stack applications, enterprise systems, and internal tools across a variety of industries.
Throughout my career, I've worked with technologies including Java, Groovy, Grails, Scala, Python, GitLab, Linux-based tools, and Agile development practices. These experiences have allowed me to contribute to business-critical applications while developing strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and collaboration skills.
While software engineering has been a significant part of my professional experience, I've consistently been drawn to infrastructure, automation, cloud technologies, and DevOps practices. I enjoy understanding how applications move from development to production and how the underlying systems can be automated, secured, monitored, and scaled efficiently.
My goal is to continue building expertise in cloud computing, DevOps, automation, and platform engineering while leveraging the software engineering foundation I've developed throughout my career.
I believe the strongest engineering solutions come from understanding the entire software delivery lifecycle. My experience across development and infrastructure-focused environments has given me an appreciation for automation, reliability, security, and creating systems that help teams deliver software more efficiently.
As technology continues to evolve, I'm focused on expanding my knowledge of cloud platforms, CI/CD, infrastructure as code, observability, and modern engineering practices that improve both developer productivity and system reliability.
One of my current builds is CysterKeto — a health tracking platform inspired by my own experience with PCOS. I created the project not only to strengthen my technical skills in cloud infrastructure and backend development, but also to build something meaningful for other women navigating similar challenges. It’s where my interest in DevOps and cloud-native architecture meets something I genuinely care about.
Outside of work, I enjoy helping friends and family understand and use technology in practical ways. As AI tools become more accessible, I love showing non-technical people how they can save time, stay organized, and improve their daily lives. I also enjoy reading, fitness, graphic design, and spending time with my family and my Rottweiler.
